“Auditable analytics” is not a buzzword. It means every dashboard number can be traced back to (1) source data, (2) transformation logic, and (3) a versioned definition that a reviewer can verify.
1) Metric definitions are explicit
If two teams disagree on a KPI, you don’t have a KPI — you have opinions. Auditable systems store the definition alongside the output.
2) Lineage is built-in
A number without lineage is not trustworthy. Lineage means: where the data came from, what rules changed it, and what model/aggregation produced the final value.
3) Evidence packs exist
An evidence pack is a small bundle: definition, inputs, joins, filters, assumptions, and timestamps — so audits don’t become fire drills.
4) Change history is non-negotiable
When a KPI changes, you need to know whether data changed, logic changed, or meaning changed. That’s versioning and governance, not just “re-run the SQL”.
